​​This project was sponsored by a generous donor through Helasarana charity. A 5 kW solar roof was installed on the school building and connected to the national grid under “net-plus” scheme. 35% of the income is used to provide water supply to about 200 school children, and buy prizes for the annual prize giving event. The rest of the income is used by the VDC towards the community development projects. This project was completed on behalf of the Helasarana with local coordination by Dr. Hansika Atapattu at the Faculty of Technology in Univ. of Colombo. This project was completed in 2022 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Helasarana charity.
