A retired professional, impressed by the pilot solar village project, donated Rs 1.5 million from his pension fund to establish a second solar village. He specifically requested that this village be located in a conflict-affected area in the North of Sri Lanka to help rebuild damaged infrastructure. This initiative, funded and overseen by a Sinhalese donor, served as a unique and practical project aimed at reconciliation between communities.
